AC Grad Show 2011 & Quilling's Revival

The art of quilling has been around since the Renaissance times, but its popularity has been increasing more and more now these days in terms of gallery art work. If you don't know what quilling is, Google defines it as:

quill·ing
noun /ˈkwiliNG/
quillings, plural
  1. A piece of quilled lace or other fabric used as a trim
  2. A type of ornamental craftwork involving the shaping of paper, fabric, or glass into delicate pleats or folds
The other week I went to Art Center's Grad Show 2011 with some friends to congratulate Daniel C. Huang (major: product design) and to peruse the gallery. Needless to say, Daniel's works are amazing! He made a product that was a nightlight, a vacuum cleaner, and a ???. If you want to check out some of the pictures we took, you can check it out here. There are also pictures of other people's artworks who were graduating, and one person used quilling in their works. It was just beautiful! I was reminded about it when I saw some amazing quilling on the Oddity Central site the other day.
